One of the sort of problems with running a business is the health and safety issues. They are way over the top, totally unnecessary. I saw the Prime Minister the other day at Downing Street and we were talking about those issues. They’re certainly trying to make life a bit easier on health and safety. As far as red tape goes that is a complete nightmare you know. I believe that we should be able to hire and fire who we want. Again they are working on it and I genuinely believe that they are going to come up with a much better system. One of the MPs I spoke to actually said that he would like to have a system where we don’t have tribunals. Where we get back to being able to sort it out in the workplace, which would be great and I actually think that will encourage businesses to take on more people knowing that if they have made a mistake or the person isn’t right that we can offset them without it costing us a lot of money. So you know health and safety, red tape, they are causing business problems but I honestly believe that this coalition is doing something about it.

It’s important to us to make sure that we employ the right people and as far as apprentices go we actually go to the local colleges and we pick the best of the class that’s there. We’ve got that arrangement with the college, they let us know whose really doing well and who would suite us. So in the company we have the pick of the best apprentices. When move on to tradesmen I think our reputation has been out there quite a while now and people know that we’re at the top of the game. Therefore we tend to attract the better tradespersons. We pay the highest rate there is in London, you know if you work as a plumber for Pimlico plumbers you can earn between £75,000 and £125,000. As far as the networks and the internet is going and social gatherings on that. It's very important as word of mouth is what makes a successful business. What we are finding with the internet is we can get feedback from customers that is normally quite positive. Other customers can look at it. The fact that we can interchange all these ideas with people. I have had many people here today say they use the company. People are more inclined now to praise successful businesses. The culture's changing and people in bad times are more appreciative of good business and the more people that are prepared to write about them, especially with the simplicity things of the internet. So for us it has been a wonderful thing.

We have a situation at the moment where obviously tines are tough out there and money is tight. there is still a lot of youngsters that want to succeed in life, well you know, for me, you know they often ask when is the best time is when you are ready for it. Forget the economy, forget the climate at the moment. If you have a product and you are all ready to go with it, go with it. But it is not an easy ride and probably what I would say to people is I have never met a successful person in business who hasn't worked hard to achieve it. Another great tip is, quitters are not winners and winners are not quitters.
