Mark Webb: "So if we looked at something like Financial Services sector or indeed other sort of slightly sleepy or what you would call mature sectors, you might not think there’s things like research and development tax credits there because you would think that type of business doesn’t have that sort of activity.  But if you actually start to look at what those businesses do and how they organise their business, a lot of, for instance, how they look after a back office function in terms of the computer systems, how that operates, how it links things together.  And all of the work around making these things talk to each other and making things actually happen may well qualify for research development tax relief.  So it’s worth talking to a specialist."
